Off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, the area has more than 14 miles of reefs to explore, as well as archaeological zones, protected natural areas, a National Park and endless expanses of turquoise water and white sand beaches.

Ironman is the most demanding triathlon event in the world. Participating athletes are expected to cover 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running. All three stages have to be covered within 17 hours. Average completion time is around 12 hours.
