Cozumel is not only a beach lover’s paradise, it is also an experienced IRONMAN host city. Off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, the area has more than 14 miles of reefs to explore, as well as archaeological zones, protected natural areas, a National Park and endless expanses of turquoise water and white sand beaches.

Ironman is the most demanding triathlon event in the world. Participating athletes are expected to cover 3.8 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.2 km running. All three stages have to be covered within 17 hours. Average completion time is around 12 hours.

Día de muertos / Hanal Pixan
Hanal Pixán is a Mayan tradition celebrated in Cozumel, Quintana Roo, as part of the Day of the Dead. It is a three-day feast that lasts from October 31 to November 2.
In Cozumel, Hanal Pixán is celebrated with the “Almas con tradición” Festival, which includes cultural, artistic and gastronomic activities.

XII Mexican Congress and IV Pan American Coral Reef Congress, which will take place on the Island from October 13 to 17, 2025.
Event that is organized by the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas (CONANP), the Institute of Marine Sciences and Limnology, of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) – Puerto Morelos Unit and Autonomous University of the State of Quintana Roo (UQROO) , Cozumel Campus. The participation of more than 70 Mexican educational institutions and those from other countries is expected, with the aim of continuing to investigate the island’s reef system and, above all, continuing with environmental education projects so that the entire community has access to information and be an important part of the care of the most beautiful reef in the world.
Festival Día de Muertos
They will be able to enjoy a complete experience where life and death intertwine in a vibrant tribute to this ancestral tradition. Gastronomic tours: An opportunity to try the typical flavors of the region such as traditional snacks and sweets, guided visits to the San Miguel cemetery, a place of great historical value where visitors can learn more about local customs, as well as a route of the Altars and events in the Benito Juárez park, including artistic presentations, exhibitions and cultural activities for the whole family.
